Skyrim

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is sure to be one of the best games available in 2011. Skyrim is a game that was announced in early 2010 and is set to be released in October 2011. The game will be a completely open world sandbox first person RPG (role playing game). Past games in the Elder Scrolls franchise have been well received by fans. The most recent installment of the franchise was called "Oblivion" and was named game of the year, so Skyrim has high expectations to meet and surpass its predecessor. One of the aspects of Skyrim that is expected to put it over the top is a new race of monsters they have added, dragons. There are going to be two species of dragons, Black dragons and Frost dragons. The Black Dragons are going to be much more commonly sighted and will be scattered around all of Skyrim but, because they are more common they will be the weaker of the two. Frost Dragons are known as one of the toughest dragons in Skyrim. They will be much stronger than their counterparts the Black Dragons. They will most likely be found in the upper tundra area of Skyrim. These are the only two dragons currently announced to appear in Skyrim but we would not be surprised if more species are released after the game debuts. The most unique aspect of the dragons that they will not be scripted in battle which means they will not simple keep bombarding you with the same attack over and over they will have a random strategy which will make them very difficult to kill. The return of the dragons also means the return the dragon god Alduin. Alduin has been known by many as The God of Akatosh, The Nordic God of Destruction or The World Eater. The reason that he has been known as the World Eater is because legend says that he was the destroyer of the previous world and destroyed it in a rain of fire, but after he destroyed it he created the new world of Tamriel. The Elder Scrolls prophesied that Alduin would attempt to return to Tamriel and as a result plunge it into a world of destruction and despair. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is sure to be a very exciting game and the addition of such unique creatures like dragons should make it an top choice for game of the year.
